New to blogging

I am completely new to this!! Hi my name is Amy, I am a wife, mother of 4, and recently an owner of a little home-based candle, soap, & crafts business. I started making candles last year because I was pretty much bored. I stay at home with my little ones, and they do keep me busy, but I wanted something that was just for me. I have been home with them for about 6 yrs now, so I was literally going nuts just playing and watching Dora all day. So this is where my love for candles and crafts comes into play. Years ago before I had my children I LOVED to craft anything I could and I did, but with children taking up so much of me I stopped. So I decided to start and I wanted to try something new and something I loved, so I thought candles first!! I LOVE candles and I was spending too much money on them anyway, so I researched and researched and researched and researched some more....... and finally I decided to just go for it. I started off making just paraffin, and I liked them, my first ones weren't that great though, but the more I read about soy the more I liked it. So I started mixing everything...soy, paraffin, beeswax, I like qualities from all of them, so I use a lot of soy and a little of everything else. I ended up with so many candles I thought maybe others would like to have some. My family seemed to think they were pretty good, so eventually I started selling them. My Grandmother also helps me and with her it makes it all fun!! I also enjoy the time we get to spend together...we have fun, we laugh a lot. We started making some soaps too, we want to start making cold process soap but right now I don't want the chemicals in my home with toddlers, so later I will do that, for now we hand mill our soaps which is great!! I love creating things, my own stuff...I make wreaths and gift baskets...I also started making my own lotions and I am sure before I am done I will make just about everything. I am very blessed to have the support from my family and I am glad that my children get to see things from a more naturalistic side instead of just all the stuff at retail stores. I am also hoping it will inspire them to create and be artistic as well.

I sell my creations on Etsy if anyone is interested in taking a look go to http://www.ozarkscentscandleco.etsy.com/ I need to polish up on my photography skills but my products are great!!
